The Northern River Hydrokinetic initiative is a cross sectoral research and demonstration project exploring the potential of river based clean energy solutions in Northern Canada. It combines cutting edge technology, community based monitoring, regulatory pathways, and climate resilience to evaluate hydrokinetic turbine deployment on the Mackenzie River. This initiative brings together federal partners, local Indigenous communities, private sector innovators, and field based researchers to co design clean energy solutions grounded in local context and environmental stewardship. The round table session in Yellowknife brings all collaborators together to align on vision, outcomes, and next steps for the project cycle.
